Basics of the Blood Group Diet

30000 years ago, we all lived as hunters, fighting for survival. Our primary source of food were meat and root fruits. At that time humans had only one blood type, and our metabolism were tuned in to make the best of this type of food. This is the basic thoughts behind the blood group diet.

As humans evolved and began to master the craft of agriculture, and wandered into unknown ecosystems of our planet, our bodies evolved with us to make the best of the new foods and lifestyles that became available to us. Today we have a diversity of 4 major blood groups, and the theory behind the blood group diet is that our new diets through the ages created a change in our body and our blood types in order to cope with the new foods.

If we began to eat according to our blood type, we would provide our body with the foods that it is tuned into digesting and see an improved health and bring the body into balance. Although the diet is rather controversial, and lacks scientific test results, it has grown in popularity due to amazing results from the people who follow the principles of the diet.

A quick sum up of the blood group diet grouping would be like this.

Blood type O is the oldest blood type and belongs to the hunters. They should eat protein rich food such as meats and make sure to work out on a regular basis.

Blood type A is the cultivators blood type and they should eat mostly greens and grains as their metabolism are tuned into this type of food.

Blood type B belongs to the nomads and are more diverse. People with this blood type should eat meat and leafy greens. Remember that the nomads primarily ate easy accessible foods that they could either pick from plants or hunt while on the go. Poultry and fish can also be added to this diet.

Blood type AB is a bit of a mystery and is the youngest blood type developed about 1000 years ago. It is believed that this blood type is an intermediate between blood group A and B.
